Next Meeting - May 9th

Hope everyone had a great weekend and is rested for the week ahead, which will include our Tuesday night study of Hebrews 4 & most of 5.

Last meeting we were cautioned that our faith is precious and that we need to constantly pay attention to God's word (hence our weekly gatherings!). We studied that our Lord Jesus is greater than the prophets who came before Him, namely Moses, and read that the same fate awaits those who rebel against Jesus as those who wandered the desert instead of following Moses into the promised land.

Please be sure to read (and reread) Hebrews 4 & most of 5. This Tuesday's meeting will focus on the reward for our faithfulness and obedience and how Jesus's role as high priest shows us the way to a fulfilling life (hint - it has to do with the Sabbath Day).

Continue to post comments on the blog to keep us updated throughout your week.

See everyone at the Phillips' house on Tuesday - starting around 6:30. Let us know if you'll be late or unable to make it.

Remember when I said I'd update the blog "regularly"...

Thanks everyone for a great first study! I can already tell we're going to have a meaningful study through Hebrews.

As we studied in Hebrews 1 Jesus fulfilled the Old Testament prophecies and after providing purification of our sins He has sat down at God's right hand. What a powerful first chapter to Hebrews, which is just a taste of the messages to come.

I hope everyone has read Hebrews 2 & 3 in preparation for tomorrow's study which will be at the Phillips' homestead again.

Call if you need additional directions (281-465-4046).

Jon and Tina are in charge of refreshments if you can pick some up beforehand.

See everyone at 6:30! Bring your journals!

Isn't Homework Fun?

First assignment. Read Hebrews 1 & 2 through atleast twice before next Tuesday to be thoroughly prepared for indepth discussion. Encourage everyone to post any prayer requests, questions, or updates directly under the comments section of the most recent posting.

Sheri and I are very excited about the study and hope you share our enthusiasm. We're confident that God will bring us all closer as couples and as a small group.
